what ironman legend Trevor Hendy has to say about Gravity Grip
Matt Brown from Gravity Grip with Trevor Hendy on the 1st October 2002. The
text has been shortened a little. If you prefer to hear the interview go to

Matt How long have you been surfing Gravity Grip?
Trev About two and a half
years. (Trevor was one of the first test pilots, with the help of Nev, who
shapes his tow- in boards and has supported the extensive R & D period
of Gravity Grip) I remember the very first time I used it; I was addicted
– definitely addicted. The first time I used it, just getting that
first little bit of air towing in behind a wave, pumping a little air on
the backwash and thinking straightaway that normally the board falls away
– but this sticks to your feet. I was stocked about what it could
do. Since that period of time we have had some very big swells, in fact
I got a wave at the back of Straddie - probably 12 foot wave –20 foot
plus face – a tube section which was probably the deepest you could
ever get, and of course with that size wave it is so very steep inside the
tube that you could not stand on a 6-10 or 7 foot board. |
